Wednesday, September 8th, 2021
The Augusta Ballet is bringing its full length Nutcracker to the beautiful new Columbia County Performing Arts Center. The Augusta Ballet, the Performing Company of the Columbia County Ballet, will present the Nutcracker on December 10 at 7:00 PM. There will be a special presentation offered for schools that morning.
Matt Jameson, General Manager for the Performing Arts Center, states, “The Nutcracker coming back to Columbia County is a wonderful opportunity for our local families to create a new tradition right here in our backyard. I can’t think of a more family-friendly show with more holiday spirit than the Nutcracker and we are so happy to be hosting it.”
Ron and Kathleen Jones, the Artistic Directors of the Ballet are excited with the new additions that will be premiering in the Nutcracker with Guest Dancers Michael and Olivia Viator (Choreographers of FREEDOM) who have recently joined the staff of the Columbia County Ballet. “This promises to be an exciting year of performance for the Ballet as we collaborate with talented Teachers, Choreographers, Costumers, Make-up specialists and beautiful young dancers to bring the Nutcracker to our county’s new Performing Arts Center!” said Ron Jones.
The Ballet has scheduled auditions for September 18 at its studios in Martinez. This is a new outreach to the community that will give young dancers and actors an opportunity to join in this holiday favorite on stage with the Performing Company.
