US 1 Repave Project from Wrens Toward Augusta Begins this Week

Almost seven center-line miles of Jefferson County US 1/GA 540 secured a $3.102 million construction investment to resurface all travel lanes. C and H Paving Inc. scheduled Monday, Sept. 27 closures to begin the resurfacing efforts.
Crews may have a single north and southbound lane closed for milling (current asphalt removal) and asphalt patching. Weather permitting, expect lane reductions Mondays through Saturdays.
Work areas from Wrens to the Jefferson County line include:

US 1 from Quaker Road to north east of Foxberry Road

Official contract completion for the repave is late spring 2022.
