Lt. Governor Duncan Announces Appointments to Six Study Committees

Today, Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan announced the members of six Senate Study Committees: Senate Food Delivery App Study Committee (SR 428), Joint Georgia Music Heritage Study Committee (SR 477), Senate Study Committee to Review Education Funding Mechanisms (SR 650), Senate Study Committee on Unsheltered Homelessness (SR 659), Senate Study Committee on the Creation of a Georgia Cybersecurity Force (SR 741), and Senate Study Committee on Transparency in High School Athletic Associations (SR 802).
“Study committees allow the General Assembly to focus its policymaking on certain topics that are priorities for Georgians,” said Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan. “This year, the Senate passed a number of resolutions calling for study committees to look at technology, education, healthcare, and good governance policies. I’m proud of the Senate’s diligent and ongoing efforts outside of session to ensure Georgia remains a great state to live, work, and raise a family.”
The Senate Food Delivery App Study Committee (SR 428) will be chaired by Sen. Elena Parent (D – Atlanta). The Senate members appointed to serve on this committee are:

Sen. Sally Harrell (D – Atlanta)
Sen. Harold Jones II (D – Augusta)
The Joint Georgia Music Heritage Study Committee (SR 477) will be chaired by Sen. Jeff Mullis (R – Chickamauga). The Senate members appointed to serve on this committee are:

Sen. Bill Cowsert (R – Athens)
Sen. Bo Hatchett (R – Cornelia)
Sen. Russ Goodman (R – Cogdell)
Sen. David Lucas (D – Macon)
The Senate Study Committee to Review Education Funding Mechanisms (SR 650) will be chaired by Sen. Mike Dugan (R – Carrollton). The Senate members appointed to serve on this committee are:

The Senate Study Committee on Unsheltered Homelessness (SR 659) will be chaired by Sen. Carden Summers (R – Cordele). The Senate and citizen members appointed to serve on this committee are:

These study committees were established pursuant to SR 428, SR 477, SR 650, SR 659, SR 741, and SR 802, adopted by the Senate during the 2022 legislative session.
