Thursday, June 2nd, 2022
On May 29, Doctor’s Hospital of Augusta, in partnership with the state of Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan, welcomed Hayden Tramble, the hospital’s first “529 Day Baby,” and awarded him a $1,529 contribution to his Path2College 529 Plan savings account.
“We were so excited to welcome our baby boy, and this just adds to the excitement,” said Hayden’s mom, Cynthia.
This is the eighth year the Path2College 529 Plan has partnered with Doctors Hospital of Augusta to award a college savings account to a “529 Day Baby.”
“We are so pleased to continue our partnership with the Path2College 529 Plan,” said Karen Smith, Chief Nursing Officer at Doctors Hospital. “This opportunity helps give Hayden a head start in reaching his academic goals.”
States across the country recognize May 29–known as 529 Day– as a day to raise awareness about each state’s 529 plan and the importance of saving for college.
“Throughout the year we promote the benefit of financial planning for future education goals. The 529 Day Baby celebration raises awareness of Georgia’s college savings plan and will inspire families to utilize the resources we have to help them save,” said Georgia Student Finance Commission President Lynne Riley.
Families who welcome a new baby in 2022 also have an opportunity to win money for their newborn’s college savings. Parents, grandparents and guardians of Georgia babies born in 2022 may go to www.Path2College529.com until April 14, 2023, for official rules, prize details and to enter for a chance to win the 2022 Newborn Sweepstakes. Entrants must be legal residents or taxpayers of Georgia and at least 18 years of age to enter. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Sponsored by the Path2College 529 Plan.
