Eight legal organizations across the CSRA partnered with Golden Harvest Food Bank to collect donations through the 11th annual Georgia Legal Food Frenzy competition.

Each year, legal groups across the state of Georgia use the friendly contest to raise funds for their local food banks. The goal of the event is to collect monetary donations in efforts to provide meals for children during the summer months when schools are closed.

“With schools closed for summer break, I am reminded of the harsh reality that 1 in 5 children in our area are struggling with hunger. For these children and their families, summer is the hardest time of the year,” stated Amy Breitmann, President & CEO, Golden Harvest Food Bank. “We can't let kids go up to 3 months without reliable food, which is why we are grateful for our legal community and their fundraising efforts to help us provide meals to the children in our area.”

Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office; CSRA Bench; Durham Bray Law Firm, P.C.; Fulcher Hagler LLP; Kilpatrick Townsend – Augusta Office; Law Offices of Nathan M. Jolles, P.C.; Richmond County Civil and Magistrate Court; and USBC – Augusta Office, collaborated with Golden Harvest Food Bank to raise a total amount of $33,056, which equates to 99,127 meals.

“The local bench is committed to supporting the community in many ways, and we are glad to partner with Golden Harvest and Legal Food Frenzy to ensure that the most basic needs are being met,” states Judge Ashley Wright, a judge of the Augusta Judicial Circuit. “Golden Harvest’s willingness to continue improving the manner in which they offer services is an inspiration to all of us!”
