June 2022 Service Numbers for The Salvation Army
Tuesday, July 19th, 2022
With inflation rising faster than wages and the uncertainty of a post-COVID economy, The Salvation Army is providing relief to more people than ever. In June 2022, they served 5,641 meals, provided 2,512 bed nights, and gave 2,652 comfort kits. They issued 30 clothing vouchers, put 17 individuals through their job skills class, and provided a stable home to 2 people experiencing homelessness.
“The Salvation Army is serving this community now more than ever,” said Major Jonathan Raymer, Augusta Area Commander & Senior Kroc Officer, "Just this month, we have served 101 men, 53 women, and 15 families with a total of 27 children. We need the support of our community as we provide increased homeless and homeless prevention services."
The Salvation Army has also seen an increase in the need for homeless prevention services such as rent and utility assistance and job skills training.
