Jason Cuevas Joins Augusta Technical College Foundation Board

Augusta Technical College is pleased to announce that Mr. Jason Cuevas has joined the Augusta Technical College Foundation as a Board Trustee.

Jason Cuevas is Vice President of Georgia Power’s East Region. In this role, he provides overall leadership for the company’s operations, customer experience, external affairs and economic and community development initiatives in service to nearly 400,000 residential, commercial and industrial customer accounts across a 39-county region that includes the Augusta, Athens, Gainesville and Milledgeville areas. In addition, he plays a key role in directing external activities for the state’s largest jobs-producing construction project, Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4.

Prior to assuming this role in 2019, Jason served as Regional Director of Georgia Power’s Southwest Region where he led the company’s operations and external affairs initiatives for 130,000 customers accounts across 21 West Georgia counties, including the cities of Columbus, Warner Robins and Dublin. Previously, he was Vice President of Corporate Communication for Georgia Power, where he directed the company’s strategic communication and brand management initiatives, including advertising, creative and digital media, employee and executive communication, and media relations.

In the community, Jason serves as vice chair of the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, on the boards of directors/advisors of the Georgia Cancer Center, Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the Central Savannah River Area, Alliance for Fort Gordon, and Augusta Tomorrow. In addition, he is a trustee of the Augusta University and Augusta Technical College Foundations.

Previously, he served as chair of the board of directors of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce, vice-chair of Columbus 2025, and was a member of the Development Authority of Columbus.

During his career, Jason has worked in a variety of domestic and international governmental/PR/investor relations, economic and project development roles for Southern Company, the Edison Electric Institute, EarthLink, Inc., Mirant Corp., and the New Orleans-based MetroVision Economic Development Partnership.

Jason earned a BA from Loyola University New Orleans and an MBA from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Sarah, have two children and reside in Augusta.
