The American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all, has named Bonnie Cox, Partner at Cherry Bekaert LLP, as the Chair for the 2023 CSRA Heart Ball. In this role, Cox is focused on driving equitable health for every member of our community, with a special focus on nutrition security and blood pressure rates, in addition, she will help raise critical funds in support the lifesaving work of the organization.
“In my years as an American Heart Association volunteer, I’ve witnessed a great deal of progress in the fight against heart disease and stroke – from research advancements that save lives every day, to improvements in the quality of care for cardiovascular disease patients which mean more years to enjoy life’s precious moments,” said Cox. I am honored to lead the 2023 CSRA Heart Ball campaign to educate our community in the importance of recognizing the signs and symptoms of heart disease and stroke and to help improve the overall health of the CSRA.”
Cox will lead the year-long campaign, culminating in the annual CSRA Heart Ball, to be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Augusta Marriott. The CSRA Heart Ball unites the community in celebrating progress toward equitable health and honoring survivors of heart disease and stroke.
We are thrilled to have Bonnie Cox’s experience, conviction, and passion to help raise critical funds to advance the science and the policies that will lead to longer, healthier lives for all,” said Ansley Howze, Executive Director for the American Heart Association.
The dollars raised by the CSRA Heart Ball campaign fund the mission of the American Heart Association to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives while supporting priority issues in the CSRA. Nutrition security and blood pressure rates have been identified by the American Heart Association as key issues to address in 2023 to propel work to support the Association’s 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal, reducing barriers to health care access and quality.
