I-20 Overnight Lane Closure Planned at Georgia-South Carolina State Line for Savannah River Bridge Project

Staff Report

Wednesday, October 19th, 2022

Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) construction partners will implement an overnight lane closure as part of the I-20 at Savannah River Bridge project.

Beginning on Wednesday, October 19, at 8 p.m., the right lane will be closed on I-20 westbound from Exit 1 in South Carolina through the Augusta Canal Bridge. The lane closure will allow construction crews access to set up a concrete pump truck to pour the new bridge deck. The work is scheduled to be completed the following morning, Thursday, October 20, by 6 a.m. without any unexpected delays.

During this time, both the right lane as well as the shoulder of I-20 westbound may be impacted. Motorists are advised to expect delays and drive with caution through the work zone.
