More than 400 cyclists are ready to hit the road this Sunday in the fight against cancer. Paceline is an Augusta-based nonprofit with the mission of bringing communities and organizations together toward a common goal – Cure Cancer Faster! Through an annual, fun bike ride, PaceDay celebrates the fundraising efforts of the Paceline community. 100% of all funds raised goes to innovative cancer research at the Georgia Cancer Center. The organization has raised over $800,000 since its founding in 2018, and 13 cancer research projects have been launched thanks to the Paceline community. The support given to our state’s cancer center is poised to continue the advancement of cancer research, prevention, treatment, care, and education.

The ride will start at SRP Park in North Augusta early on Sunday morning, October 16th, and end at Augusta Common with a Finish Line Festival to share with loved ones. This year, Paceline is providing a new family-friendly closed circuit “loop” in downtown Augusta, called the Cyber City Circuit, as well as three new open road routes that all pass by the Georgia Cancer Center itself. The ride is fully supported with law enforcement presence on route and at intersections for safety, 10 support and gear vehicles, and 5 rest stops: each with food, beverages, restrooms, and medical & mechanical support. 

“We are encouraging people from all parts of our community to do something meaningful through being on a bike,” said Paceline president, Martyn Jones. “It’s an awesome way for the community to get together for an activity which is fun, friendly, and very engaging.”

The night before PaceDay, Paceline is hosting an Opening Ceremony Celebration for the entire community. Musical guests Funk You and Moon Taxi will take the stage Saturday evening on the outfield at SRP Park. Ticket proceeds and 100% of all donations collected will benefit the Georgia Cancer Center.
