Tee Off Fore Tatas this Friday
Tuesday, October 4th, 2022
The Apartment Association of Greater Augusta holds its 13th annual Tee Off Fore Tatas charity golf tournament Oct. 7 at Mount Vintage Golf Club.
Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University for breast cancer research.
Shelly Martin has chaired the event committee since its start and is looking forward to another great event.
"The Apartment Association and our committee enjoy so much getting to put on an event like this in our community,” said Martin. “Not only do we have a great time on the course, we are making an impact locally on the breast cancer research being done here at the Georgia Cancer Center."
The event becomes more popular every year with player spots selling out weeks before the tournament.
Last year the tournament raised $42,719.96. This brings the total donated to over $200,000 since the tournament’s inception.
“Each year we have a goal of exceeding the prior year,” said Martin. “With the community's support, 2022 will be the best year yet!"
According to the American Cancer Society, there is a one in eight chance the average woman in the United States will develop breast cancer. Research through the Georgia Cancer Center is providing increased awareness, earlier screenings and better treatment options.
