City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department Announces Movie Night in the Park

Staff Report

Tuesday, February 21st, 2023

The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department will host the Movie in the Park on Saturday, March 11, 2023. The movie will be shown in the tiered amphitheater area at Beverly D. Clyburn Generations Park, located at 700 Mack Henry Holland Drive.

Community input determined “Encanto” will be the featured presentation for all to come and enjoy. The film Encanto is about a magic town where every child in the family has a unique gift except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigal’s last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding Encanto is now in danger.

Be sure to grab your lawn chairs, blankets, family, and friends. The movie will begin 10 minutes after sunset for you to enjoy the movie under the stars. This will be around 6:30 pm.

This event is free to the public, but plan accordingly to stop by one of our food truck vendors, Celebrations and Whipped Creamery, to grab a snack to enjoy with the movie. Please be sure to “leave no trace” in our park by placing all trash in the nearby receptacles. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
The City of Aiken Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism invites people of all ability levels to enjoy programs, parks, and facilities. Individuals needing special assistance to participate should notify PRT Administrative Office 48 hours in advance.
