On Saturday, April 22, 2023; Augusta University, the City of Augusta, and the Phinizy Center for Water

Sciences are hosting the big Earth Day Augusta Celebration in keeping with the worldwide Earth Day movement (www.earthday.org) to promote sustainable living. This is an annual event free to the community hosted at the Phinizy Center and Nature Park from 10 am to 3 pm.  This event offers family activities, entertainment, earth-friendly business vendors, sales of local re-purposed arts & crafts, hayride tours, food vendors will be available, classes, SREL animals, Wade Carruth’s Raptors, and so much more.

We also are planning a SERVICE to the community through designated Cleanups across the CSRA, where volunteers will help clean up locations by picking up trash/litter, 9 am – 12 pm. 

Volunteers can then join the celebration at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park and grab lunch.
