The Other 51 at the Augusta Metro Chamber’s April Women In Business

Ever wonder what there is to do in Augusta outside of Tournament Week? What are some major happenings around town not associated with golf's biggest week of the year? The Augusta Metro Chamber and Peach State Federal Credit Union invite you to Women In Business on Tuesday, April 18 to hear from Margaret Woodard with the Downtown Development Authority, Bennish Brown of Destination Augusta and Cal Wray at the Augusta Economic Development Authority on what happens in Augusta the other 51 weeks of the year.

Executive Director Margaret Woodard, whose career spans decades in both the public and private sector, has served the community since 2005 in economic development and business recruitment roles for the Downtown Development Authority. As a public servant, Margaret is invested in giving back on the Board of Directors for the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, Augusta Regional Collaboration (ARC), Greater Augusta Arts Council and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta.

Bennish Brown has served as President/CEO of Destination Augusta since July of 2018. Among his most fulfilling accomplishments in his time at Destination Augusta are the completion and roll out of a destination rebranding project, completion of a new destination website, and the launch of a new award-winning destination marketing campaign. He serves on Board of Directors for The Southeast Tourism Society and on the Board of Destinations International. Locally, he is on the Boards of the Augusta Metro Chamber, the Alliance for Fort Gordon, the Augusta Sports Council, and the Greater Augusta Arts Council.

Cal Wray is a proven leader in the economic development profession. Prior to becoming President of the Augusta Economic Development Authority, Cal served as Executive Director of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation and Aspire Clarksville Foundation in Tennessee. He served as Vice President and then President of the Dublin-Laurens County Development Authority in Georgia from 2007 until 2014 and held economic development positions with the Cullman Economic Development Agency in Alabama.

The Women In Business Program begins at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church of Augusta. Tickets are $35 for Chamber members and $45 for prospective members.
