WHAT: As part of the National Travel & Tourism Week (NTTW) celebration May 7-13, Destination Augusta invites media to join us this evening, Wednesday, May 10th 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Broad Axe Throwing for the annual “Masters of Hospitality” reception.

During the reception Destination Augusta along with Mayor Pro-Tem, Brandon Garrett will recognize individuals in the local hospitality community who have provided exceptional service to visitors. The Mayoral welcome will take place at 6:00 p.m. followed by the award presentation at 6:30 p.m.

WHO: After the “Masters of Hospitality” award presentation the following individuals will be available for interviews:

Jennifer Bowen, Destination Augusta, VP of Destination Development & Community Engagement

WHY: “Masters of Hospitality” winners are local hotel staff who were nominated by guests for providing excellent customer service. All nominees and a member of their leadership staff are invited and encouraged to attend this recognition event. Prizes and additional recognition will be awarded to individuals from hotels who received the most nominations. Additionally, a full-service hotel and a limited-service hotel which had the most employees nominated will receive a special prize. The “Masters of Hospitality” program was designed by Destination Augusta in 2009 to recognize hospitality staff for providing excellent customer service.
