Augusta Sailing Club, located on the shore of Clarks Hill Lake in Appling, GA is buzzing with activity! While
it is a private club, ASC also serves in a community outreach capacity.

This summer we will host the YFlyer National Regatta, June 12-16, featuring both Junior and Senior
Championship racing. This regatta allows all who participate to do so at the top level of this class. It is a
week of great racing, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. Summer Sail Camp is already underway and our
classes are full. The young sailors who participate in these camps learn much about sailing for fun, racing a
variety of boats and all around sportsmanship. Our newest program is the Spirit of America Community outreach which currently attracts 11-15 year olds. Many of these participants have not had the opportunity to experience water activities before attending this week-long program. Students learn water safety, acquire their GA boat license, learn to
sail, kayak, jet ski and more. All of this is provided through volunteers and grants and provides an
invaluable experience to all who participate. This program is set to expand over the coming year so be
on the lookout for information posted on Facebook and through local school and club sources.
