Rev Up the Fun with Touch A Truck & Power Wheel Derby!

Wednesday, August 16th, 2023

The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department will host their 21st annual  Touch-A-Truck Event on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 9 am – 1 pm! This free event is an informal chance for children to climb, sit, and explore various vehicles at the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center, 1700 Whiskey Road.

A variety of vehicles will be available at the Touch-A-Truck Event for children to enjoy this year.

Their vehicle contributors include local businesses and organizations that value providing families with this annual day of fun and educational enjoyment, such as the City of Aiken, Aiken Electric Cooperative, Aiken Pest Control, Safe Kids Worldwide, Aiken County School District, and many more!

They will also offer a Sensory Hour from 9 am – 10 am where sirens, lights, and horns will be silenced to allow for a noiseless engagement opportunity. Food vendors are also on site, and other activities will be available to ensure an all-around good time!

This year’s event will also feature a Power Wheel Derby! Registration for the derby is $5. Participants must be 8 years of age or younger and provide their own helmet and vehicle. You can register at the Odell Weeks Activities Center, Smith-Hazel Recreation Center, or Lessie B. Price Aiken Senior & Youth Center after August 1, and space is limited. Come for the trucks; leave with a trophy! The Power Wheel Derby will start at 8 am.
