Synovus Names T.J. Barton to Augusta Advisory Board

Synovus today announced the appointment of T.J. Barton, American Concrete president and Barton Concrete Products CEO, to its Augusta Advisory Board.

His talents, expertise and perspectives will further our efforts to build a strong relationship-focused bank committed to meeting the financial needs of individuals and businesses in the greater Augusta community.” 

As president of American Concrete, Barton is responsible for the company’s operations and the development of products. A true Augusta native, he is a graduate of American Military University and served eight years in the U.S. Coast Guard, primarily running search and rescue efforts in the Pacific Northwest. Upon his separation of service, Barton assumed the position of American Concrete president in 2016.  

Barton is Augusta’s only certified Concrete Technologist Level 4, as designated by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. He serves as chairman of the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta and the Georgia Area Council for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Barton is also a member of the Georgia Ready Mix Concrete Association board of directors and a civic leader with the Augusta Exchange Club, dedicated to improving the community through the Annual Agricultural Fair and other service opportunities.
