Victory Baptist Church is sharing the Gospel with men through its inaugural Outdoorsmen Extravaganza on Aug. 19.

“We’ve hosted a ladies’ conference for a few years now, but we didn’t have anything geared toward men,” said Makenzi Mattero, Victory’s communications director. “Our pastor is an avid outdoorsman and wanted to have an outreach for men. This outreach is for members of the community to hear the Gospel and enjoy Christian fellowship and for members of the church to grow together in their faith.”

Attendees to the Aug. 19 Outdoorsmen Extravaganza will receive a gift for registering. There will be giveaways throughout the evening for guns, knives, guided hunting and fishing trips, gun safes, an e-bike, a kayak and much more. North Carolina hunter and pastor Von Ramsey will lead a worship session, as will Victory Baptist pastor CT Townsend. There also will be a special performance by Southern Gospel singers Anthem Edition. Between sessions, attendees can visit and shop at vendor and sponsor booths. A meal will also be provided featuring smoked elk and other types of game meat.

“Our hope is that men who have not heard the Gospel or who have not been to church in a while will connect with other men with similar interests,” Mattero said. “Men need community just like women do. We hope they will feel that sense of community and keep coming back with their families.”

The Outdoorsmen Extravaganza will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Victory Baptist Church, 620 W. Martintown Road, North Augusta. Admission is $25 per person, and sponsorships are available. To register, go to VictoryBC.com or call 803-278-2138.
