Columbia County Fire Rescue cordially invites you to attend the Remembering 9/11 Ceremony. The ceremony, which is free to the public, will take place on Monday, September 11, 2023 at The Plaza Parking Deck (7015 Evans Town Center Boulevard, Evans GA).

The ceremony will begin at 8:15 AM with the Presentation of Colors by Columbia County Fire Rescue’s Color Guard followed by a timeline of events, last call, ringing of the bell, and closing prayer. This year, firefighters will remain on site after the closing of the ceremony to climb 55 flights of stairs to commemorate the 110 flights of stairs that were in the World Trade Center.

A 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a way to never forget one of the most tragic days in American history and to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11 in the World Trade Centers.
