The City of Aiken State Accommodations Tax Committee is currently accepting funding requests for tourism related projects that will take place July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025. New and current applicants are encouraged to apply.

State Accommodation Tax Grants are available for qualifying non-profit or government organizations. The grant will cover marketing expenses that promote tourism in the Aiken area and target audiences outside a 50-mile radius of Aiken. Interested organizations should contact the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department for a letter of intent form. Applicants (current and new) will not receive an application unless a letter of intent has been completed and received. Signing the letter of intent confirms the applicants have budgeted the requested funds. This is a reimbursement grant and all funds must be spent according to the guidelines and reimbursement materials must meet all criteria in order to receive the full reimbursement amount.

All letters of intent must be received by 5:00 P.M. on Friday, October 20^th, 2023. All applicants will be required to attend a mandatory ATAX workshop on November 1^st from 3:00 – 5:00 pm or November 2^nd from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Details of the workshop will be shared with eligible applicants who submit LOIs by the Oct. 20^th deadline.

Letters of intent submitted in person must be received by the October 20^th deadline at 5:00 P.M., at the first floor reception desk of the City of Aiken Municipal Building 111 Chesterfield St. S. Attn: Casey Lozon.
