Historic Augusta Names Endangered Properties, Focusing Efforts on Sand Hills Historic District

On Tuesday, Historic Augusta announced its list of endangered properties for 2024. It includes four properties, located in the Summerville and Laney-Walker neighborhoods. It also featured a special designation to preserve the historic Sand Hills neighborhood.
The historic Sand Hill District has a rich history. But, with numerous properties are now siloed by vacant lots, it can quickly affect the whole block, making stable neighborhoods, not so stable.
