Local Real Estate Firm's Growth Coincides with Greater Augusta's Economic Expansion

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

The real estate market in the Greater Augusta area has recently been undergoing some new and exciting changes. These changes are also reflected in the positive growth at CENTURY 21 Larry Miller Realty.

"We've been preaching the case for the Greater Augusta area to our clients, customers and agents for decades, and now the world is finally coming around to realizing that we enjoy one of the most stable economies and one of the most affordable and enjoyable lifestyles in the country," said Larry Miller, broker/owner of CENTURY 21 Larry Miller Realty.

Miller's real estate firm has more than doubled its number of full-time, professional realtors in the last nine months as his marketing area has experienced a steady flow of positive economic news.

In addition to some significant industrial coups by area economic development authorities, such as landing the big new Starbucks facility in Richmond County and the start of construction on two new nuclear plants at nearby Plant Vogtle, the area is looking forward to major population increases due to exponential job growth at Fort Gordon, home of the United States Army Signal Corps and the National Security Administration Center (2,400 new jobs).

Construction on headquarters for the United States Army Cyber Command will soon begin, a move that will add some 3,700 jobs (military, civilian and contractor) and a projected 5,620 more people to the Augusta area's population over the next few years.

"What makes this development all the more exciting is the fact that the types of jobs being added are primarily well-paying, high-tech positions that will stimulate our local economy for decades to come," explains Miller. "When you have a stable economy that is experiencing steady, major growth, that tells me you're in a superb environment to build a career, start a business, buy a home and raise a family."

Membership in the CSRA Home Connections Program, a business networking and development organization that is a subsidiary of CENTURY 21 Larry Miller Realty, also grew by leaps and bounds in the past year.

"We are proud to say that we increased our number of Preferred Providers by over 50 percent," reports Caroline Bradshaw, Director of Membership Development.

Miller recently announced that his firm's Relocation Department, headed up by Relocation Director Mary Lou Miller, was presented the Cartus Five Star Award, which recognizes brokers who have met or exceeded their individual objectives for outgoing broker-to-broker referral closings during the calendar year.

“The effort that Larry Miller put forth toward not only achieving but also exceeding their objectives for outgoing broker-to-broker referral closings speaks volumes about the commitment to success that makes our brokers such highly valued partners,” said Gerald Pearce, Cartus Executive Vice President, Broker Services and Affinity Services. “We are proud to be affiliated with this talented group of real estate professionals and look forward to our continued joint success in the future.”

“The importance of placing broker-to-broker referrals cannot be over-emphasized,” said Mary Lou Miller. “We are happy to join the list of Network members from around the country who have worked so hard to succeed in doing this.”

In addition to the Five Star Award, CENTURY 21 Larry Miller Realty was one of only 25 brokers worldwide to earn the prestigious Cartus Broker Network Silver Broker Award for Excellence at the 2014 Cartus Broker Network International Conference.

“Our A-Team agents gave it their best last year and made it possible for us to receive this wonderful recognition," explained Mary Lou Miller.
