Columbia County Chamber to Build New Two-Story Office Building

Columbia County Chamber Holdings, Inc. and the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are proud to announce the purchase of a parcel on Washington Road for construction of a new Chamber office.
The nearly 1-acre property on Sir Galahad Drive fronts Washington Road in the heart of Evans Towne Center. Plans are to raze the existing house and construct a two-story professional office building with plenty of offices, conference rooms and meeting areas. Keeping true to the Camelot neighborhood’s architecture, the office building with have a traditional style. It will front Washington Road.
The Chamber offices have been located in the former Columbia County Health Department since 2012 with the Development Authority of Columbia County and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Since then, the Chamber has grown to nearly 1,000 members and six full-time and three part-time employees and has out-grown the space.
The Chamber plans to begin the rezoning and permitting processes shortly and looks forward to a new Chamber home in the future.
President/CEO of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Tammy Shepherd sent the below email out to chamber members regarding their plans:
I have exciting news to share with you. As you know, our Chamber has seen phenomenal growth in the past few years. In fact, we expect to have more than 1,000 members by the end of the year. We have increased our programs and staff to better serve you and our growing community.
Now we find ourselves outgrowing our current office space at 1000 Business Blvd. We needed ample space in a visible location.cThe Chamber’s Board of Directors formed Columbia County Chamber Holdings, Inc. and has purchased property for a new office building.
The property is located at 8101 Sir Galahad Drive at the corner of Washington Road and located across the road from the Evans Post Office. Our plan is to construct a two-story office building with conference room and plenty of office space for now and the future. Keeping true to the Camelot neighborhood’s architecture, the office building with have a traditional style. It will front Washington Road.
The site plan and building design are being developed now and the process of rezoning the property will begin shortly. During the rezoning phase, we may ask for your support. As plans progress, we will keep you informed.
