Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Friday, October 28th, 2016

Gerald Jones Ford Lincoln announced this week that their Grand Opening will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the all new Gerald Jones Ford Lincoln facility at 3480 Wrightsboro Road. Bill Elliott, “NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver”, and Kevin Giacomini, Vice President of Ford Motor Company, will join Andy Jones and his family in celebrating the opening of the new store.

“After 42 years of serving the CSRA with our imported vehicles, we have added Ford and Lincoln to increase the auto group’s offerings. Expanding our line means that there is nothing that we cannot provide to our customers. From the smallest import to the largest commercial truck – we have it,” said Andy Jones. Adding two new brands aren’t the only changes. “The new facility boasts an expansive 20,000 square foot modern state of the art showroom and service drive,” shares General Manager of Ford Lincoln, Brian Winters. “In the interest of streamlining the customer experience, all sales consultants are equipped with iPads in order to render on-the-spot information and customer assistance; thereby shortening the purchase time for the customer. We have also gone green with all new exterior and interior LED lighting.”

The Grand Opening Celebration is open to the public and will begin with a joint ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. with The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. Hors d’oeuvres will be served by Silver Palm Catering and the first 500 guests will receive gifts from the Jones family. Guests will also enjoy tours of the new facility and music by the band, Actual Proof. The evening will be highlighted with guest speakers and close with a toast at 7:00 p.m.

Gerald Jones Ford Lincoln is excited to welcome special guest, Bill Elliott, to the celebration. Mr. Elliott has won “NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver” award a record 16 times and will be speaking about his experiences in NASCAR that evening. Bill is a Georgia native and a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. He is also the father of current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Chase Elliott. Bill will be available to sign autographs during the event. A wristband will be required for an autograph and photo; these will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event. Wristbands are limited and are one per person.
