Monday, March 12th, 2018

First Community Bank is pleased to announce the opening of its downtown Augusta location at 771 Broad Street. The 3,100 square foot office, located at the corner of Broad and 8th Streets, marks the 20th location for the bank and its third in the Aiken and Augusta region.

“Having an office in the heart of the city presents tremendous opportunity for us and our customers,” said Augusta Market President Jordan Pierce. “Because we are a community-focused bank with an emphasis on relationships, we can offer business owners in the fast-growing downtown area services that extend past a transaction.”

James Heffner will lead the new office in his role as a commercial banker. “We believe it is important for customers to have convenient access to the quality service they’ve come to know at our Walton Way location,” said James. “With the remarkable changes happening, it is a great time to be downtown.”

While a recent addition to the bank, James is a seasoned banker and a valuable addition to the Augusta team. James is actively invested in the city’s youth and art programs and serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the Greater Augusta Arts Council and Leadership Augusta.

In addition to its downtown and Walton Way offices, First Community Bank operates an office in Aiken and has purchased property in Evans, Georgia with plans to further expand its footprint in the region. Since entering the market in 2014 through the acquisition of Savannah River Banking Company, the bank has increased its focus on the area by growing its team and creating an Augusta Advisory Board. The board, made up of more than a dozen local leaders, works to strengthen the bank’s community presence and outreach to area businesses.
