Unisys Teams With Augusta Technical College to Train and Hire Augusta-Area Residents to Work in Cybersecurity Jobs

Unisys Corporation announced the company is teaming with Augusta Technical College in Augusta, GA, and the U.S. Department of Labor to launch an apprenticeship program to train workers in the region in skills related to cybersecurity and to provide career opportunities for veterans.

The new Cybersecurity Support Technician Apprenticeship program will provide a pipeline for students to receive academic and on-the-job training as well as potential cyber-related employment with Unisys. Unisys plans to help train and hire these workers for projects in support of several U.S. state governments and to augment its cyber workforce at its growing Augusta Security Operations Center.

To kick off Veterans Day and National Apprenticeship Week, Unisys and Augusta Technical College are scheduled to provide additional details on the apprenticeship program on Monday, November 12th at11:20 am ET at the Georgia Cyber Center in Augusta. Planned participants include leaders from Unisys; Terry Elam, president of Augusta Technical College; William Kraus, Georgia state director of registered apprenticeship at the U.S. Department of Labor; and representatives from the Technical College System of Georgia.
