Augusta Metro Chamber Member Town Hall Presents ‘Weighing in on Change’ June 10th

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Friday, June 7th, 2019

The Augusta region landscape is changing and you know what they say: either change manages you or you manage change.  Join the Augusta Metro Chamber for a Member Town Hall on Monday, June 10 and explore the trends that are shaping our future.  Where do you weigh in on these topics?  At this interactive-format Member Town Hall, experts will share information on what lies ahead for downtown parking, workforce needs and the real estate market.

Featured guest Marcus Campbell, Chief of Staff for the Office of the Mayor will discuss downtown parking.  For generations we have had the convenience of pull up parking in downtown Augusta but we are now headed in a new direction.  Will you be an advocate for change or do you see challenges ahead?

Kelly Tabor, Recruiting and Employee Relations Manager for TaxSlayer, and Phil Wahl, SVP, Security Federal Bank and Chair of the Chamber’s Business and Education Advisory Council, will explore the need for great employees now.  Our regional school districts and staffing companies are working as fast as they can to provide a pipeline of excellent workers who are job-ready.  Are we working fast enough?

Featured guests from Blanchard & Calhoun Real Estate Co. will talk about the exceedingly increasing need for housing and where to live.  The region's population is estimated to grow by 50,000 people over the next 10 years.  How will our local housing marketing absorb this growth and what will housing options look like for future growth?

The June Member Town Hall, held at the Augusta Metro Chamber office from 4 to 6 pm, is complimentary for members and $25 for prospective-members to attend.  To register, visit AugustaMetroChamber.com.  For more information, contact Sabrina Balthrop, Director of Events, at [email protected] or by calling 706.821.1300.
