The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious 5-Star Accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The accomplishment places the local chamber among an elite group of organizations across the United States recognized for their outstanding commitment to fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and promoting the vitality of the region. The Columbia County Chamber is one of just 12 chambers statewide holding the coveted designation and the only Georgia chamber to be given the 5-star accreditation in the CSRA.
"We are thrilled and honored to receive this recognition from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,” said Russell Lahodny, President and CEO of the Columbia County Chamber. “The 5-star Accreditation is the result of months of hard work by our incredible Chamber staff and the ongoing support of our Board members. It’s a tangible reminder that we’re balanced in our commitments to delivering exceptional value to our members while strengthening the business community in Columbia County and the Greater Augusta Region."
The 5-star Accreditation is the highest level of recognition awarded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and it signifies that the Columbia County Chamber meets or exceeds the highest national standards for chamber performance. The rigorous accreditation process evaluates a range of factors, including organizational structure, strategic planning, financial management, advocacy efforts, and member services.
“Chambers of commerce that achieve an Accreditation designation are truly leaders in their industry,” said Raymond P. Towle, U.S. Chamber Vice President, Federation Relations and IOM. “This rigorous review includes all aspects of a chamber’s policies, operations, and programming. When chambers of commerce earn the distinction of becoming Accredited, it is a mark of excellence for the organization, its staff, and its leadership. Accredited chambers are recognized for their ability to serve as a resource to their region’s businesses while maintaining transparent governance practices, sound financial controls, safe work environments, effective communications, and value in programming. They are commended for their continued advocacy of free enterprise, and for their commitment to serving members and their local businesses.”
