Golden Harvest Food Bank Receives $300,000 Disaster Relief Grant from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

On Tuesday, December 17th, Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation presented a $300,000 disaster relief grant to Golden Harvest Food Bank during a heartfelt check presentation , commemorating a partnership that brings hope and healing to those recovering from Hurricane Helene.

Following the presentation, Food Lion associates volunteered with the Food Bank to help pack essential food items to distribute to those in the community in need.

"This $300,000 grant is yet another example of their unwavering commitment, bringing hope and vital relief to families recovering from the storm."

This disaster relief grant builds upon Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation’s year-round dedication to addressing food insecurity by increasing access to nutritious food and supporting nutritional education initiatives. Since its inception in 2001, the Foundation, a philanthropic arm of Food Lion, has awarded more than $22.8 million in grants to address food insecurity in communities it serves.

Food Lion Feeds, established in 2014 by Food Lion, is an omnichannel grocery retailer initiative created to combat food insecurity. Through this program, Food Lion provides nutritious food to nourish neighbors experiencing hunger. Food Lion associates play an active role in this mission by volunteering year-round to pack or distribute food, demonstrating their steadfast commitment to making a difference in the communities they serve.
