Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Tuesday, February 24th, 2026

Bill Beazley Homes, a cornerstone of residential development in the Greater Augusta-Aiken region, is proud to announce the official celebration of its 50th anniversary. Since breaking ground on its very first home in 1976, the company has grown from a local builder into a nationally recognized "Giant of Building," shaping the landscape of Georgia and South Carolina.

The company's journey began in 1976 in the Meadowood neighborhood, where Bill Beazley completed the company's first home for just $27,900. Fifty years later, the firm has evolved into a multi- county powerhouse, recently reaching a milestone of 400 units built in a single year (2021) and earning a spot on Pro Builder magazine's prestigious "Housing Giants" list.

A Legacy of "Firsts" and Master-Planned Excellence

Over the last five decades, Bill Beazley Homes has pioneered residential growth across the region:.

Expanding Borders: After launching its first Richmond County community (Fireside) in 1978 and its first Columbia County neighborhood (Candlewood Crossing) in 1980, the company crossed the Savannah River into Aiken County with South Meadows in 2003.

Scale and Innovation: The company's portfolio includes massive master planned communities such as Stratford (500 homes) and Hayne's Station, its largest community to date, with nearly 900 homes and resort-style amenities.

Full-Service Evolution: Beyond construction, the company launched its land development division in 1978, established its specialized warranty division in 1999, and evolved its real estate arm into the current Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beazley, REALTORS®.

Looking ahead, Bill Beazley Homes President Stephen Beazley proclaims, "While our scale has changed, our focus on quality of life and long-term value for our homeowners remains exactly as it was in 1976."

Awards and Community Impact

The 50th-anniversary milestone also highlights a legacy of ethics and service. A recipient of the BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, Bill Beazley Homes has long been recognized for its integrity. In 2011, the Mayor of Augusta officially declared January 23 as "Bill Beazley Homes Day."

This commitment to the community is perhaps most visible through the Columbia County Foundation for Children, established in 1994 by Barbara C. Beazley, and the company's 2010 participation in ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, where they built a home for the Graham family in record time.

Looking Toward the Next 50 Years

As Bill Beazley Homes enters its second half-century, it continues to innovate with five new developments currently underway, including Cedar Creek (Aiken, SC) and Springdale Trails (Graniteville, SC).
