Golden Harvest to Host Elected Leaders for Feeding the Future Roundtable
Wednesday, April 29th, 2026
Golden Harvest Food Bank will welcome elected officials from across its 24-county service area on Thursday for its annual Feeding the Future roundtable discussion. The event will take place at Golden Harvest’s main campus, located at 3310 Commerce Drive in Augusta, Georgia.
As families across Georgia and South Carolina continue to face rising food costs and increased need, Feeding the Future will bring local and state leaders together for a closer look at hunger in the communities they serve. The discussion will highlight what Golden Harvest and its network of hunger-relief partners are seeing across the region, including the unique challenges facing both urban and rural communities.
Attendees will hear directly from Golden Harvest staff and local partners about the barriers neighbors face when trying to access food, the role of charitable food assistance, and opportunities for elected officials to help strengthen the local food system.
“Every county we serve has neighbors facing hunger, and every community has a role to play in the solution,” said Amy Breitmann, President & CEO of Golden Harvest Food Bank. “This roundtable gives us the opportunity to listen, share what we are seeing on the ground, and work together toward a future where no neighbor has to wonder where their next meal will come from.”
Following the roundtable discussion, guests and members of the media will be invited to tour Golden Harvest’s Augusta Campus and Produce Rescue Center, which supports the Food Bank’s ability to distribute fresh, healthy food across its 24-county service area.
