    The results of the fourth quarter Georgia CEO survey suggests that Georgia business leaders feel more optimistic about the current business conditions in Georgia compared to the previous surveys. The purpose of the surveys is to better understand how general business conditions are impacting Georgia CEO subscribers on a quarterly basis. Georgia CEO partners with the Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development (BBRED), a member of the College of Business at Georgia Southern University, to prepare, distribute and analyze the survey.

    All businesses have intellectual property and trade secrets. A company is in business because it is offering something of “value” which can be a number of things from product to process to promotion. The loss or misappropriation of such can be devastating to the success and profitability of a company. In a measure to further protect businesses, the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA) of 2016 was signed into law on May 11, 2016 after being unanimously passed in the Senate and ratified in the House. It creates a federal cause of action for trade secret misappropriation.

The briefing was designed to provide state leaders with a greater understanding of the various cyber entities housed at Fort Gordon, how they work together and the tactical missions.

    The Augusta Convention & Visitors Bureau has purchased a building at 1010 Broad Street. The Augusta CVB and Augusta Sports Council will be relocating their offices from Enterprise Mill to 1010 Broad Street; the Augusta Visitor Center will also be relocating from 560 Reynolds Street to the main floor of the new building.

Improperly trained temporary hires can present workplace safety risks. A 2014 study conducted by Travelers Insurance found that 28% of injuries happen within the first year of employment.
