Candidate Forum Planned for October 16th

Voters get a chance Thursday, October 16 to hear first-hand the candidates for the contested races in the upcoming General and Special Elections in Columbia County.

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia County News-Times are sponsoring the forum at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center at the Columbia County Library in Evans at 6 p.m. Candidates for the County Commission District 3 seat, County  Commission District  4 seat  and the Tax Commissioner plan to attend.

Each candidate will be asked questions from the Chamber and the News-Times.  Answers will be limited to 2 minutes each. Candidates also will have two minutes for opening comments and two minutes for closing remarks. If time permits, written questions from the audience may be asked.

Moderators will be Reagan Williams, from of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee, and Steve Crawford, publisher of the News-Times.

The event will be open to the public. There is no charge to attend.
