On October 24, 2014, United Way of the CSRA’s AmeriCorps*VISTAs will come together with Teleperformance staff at 84 Lumber to distribute over 20,000 pounds of food and hygiene items to 400 families with children, to include Veterans and military families, experiencing the effects of poverty in Richmond, Columbia and Burke Counties.  

United Way is partnering with 14 host agency sites that will be responsible for pre-approving families for the event.  Host agencies include:

Hunger’s roots go deep and it hurts kids every day.  In fact, more than 28.8 percent of Georgia’s children live in food insecure household. The goal of the community service project, which will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm at 84 Lumber, is to provide hope and resources for those without life’s essentials – food.
