Augusta Attorney Named Top 10 Young Professional to Watch

Attorney Brandon Elijah, managing partner of Burroughs | Elijah Attorneys, has been named as one of Augusta’s 2015 Top 10 in 10 Young Professionals to Watch by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Augusta Magazine.

“I am honored to be acknowledged by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, Augusta Magazineand business leaders throughout the city as a young professional to watch,” said Elijah. “My business partner, Daniel Burroughs, and I returned to our hometown of Augusta after receiving our law degrees so that we could give back to the community where we were born and raised. To receive community support of our efforts speaks volumes about our city’s leadership.”    

The Augusta young professionals entered into a competitive nomination process in March 2015. Nominations were reviewed by a selection committee consisting of Augusta business leaders.

Elijah’s notable accomplishments include being named to “2013 Legal Elite” in Georgia Trend magazine in the Taxes/Estates/Trusts category and being elected as representative for the Southern District for the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division Executive Council, 2013-2015 term.

In 2014, Elijah received the Outstanding Service to the Public award by the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division for his work as co-founder of the First Responders Wills Clinic program. Since the program’s inception, Elijah and other attorneys from across the state have volunteered approximately 400 pro bono hours and assisted approximately 200 first responders and their families with simple estate planning documents.

Elijah earned his juris doctorate from the Charleston School of Law. Prior to law school, Brandon received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government at Berry College. He is licensed to practice in Georgia and South Carolina.
