Wednesday, August 12th, 2015

Terry D. Elam, President of Augusta Technical College, is pleased to announce that the College has received official notification that the Pharmacy Technician Training Program, Mechanical Engineering Technology Program, and Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Programs have been reaffirmed.

The Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission voted to continue the program’s accreditation, and the American Society of Health System Pharmacists accepted the Commission’s vote.  ASHP is the professional association for pharmacists who practice in hospitals and health systems. The Society's 40,000 members include pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who practice in inpatient, outpatient, home-care, and long-term-care settings, as well as pharmacy students.

The Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) has reaffirmed both the Mechanical Engineering Technology and Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology programs at the College.  ABET is a not-for-profit, non-governmental accrediting agency for programs in applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology and are recognized as an accreditor by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.  ABET accreditation provides assurance that a college or university program meets the quality standards of the profession for which that program prepares graduates.
