Christ Community Health Services Augusta announced plans to complete the second and third floors of their health center at the historic Ann Boardman Widows Home.

The plans include a physical therapy suite and patient education center on the second floor and an 8-chair dental clinic on the third floor.

Christ Community Health Services Executive Director Jeff Drake said, “We are excited about completing the renovations of the Widows Home and expanding the scope of our services for the community.”

Drake announced a $1.5 million capital campaign to complete the renovations. More than $1.2 million has already been raised toward the goal.

“We are very grateful for everyone who has already contributed to the campaign. Now we invite the community to help us reach our goal and bring the second and third floors of the Widows Home back to life,” said Drake.

Christ Community Health Services recognized University Health Care System for their lead gift to the Widows Home campaign. Christ Community Health Medical Director Robert Campbell and University Health Care System President/CEO Jim Davis unveiled a special plaque that will be placed in the waiting room at the Widows Home.

The Widows Home Health Center opened in August 2001. More than 45,000 patient visits have been competed at the facility since then.
