EDTS Makes it Six Straight Years on Inc 5000 List, Ranking #3890 in 2015

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Thursday, August 13th, 2015

Once is a tremendous honor.  Two or three times is a separator.  And five times is a truly uncommon distinction.

EDTS, however, has now moved into an increasingly rarified group, as it was named today to Inc. Magazine’sprestigious 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies for 2015 -- the sixth consecutive year that the Southeastern IT company will have achieved that honor.

While hundreds of young companies make the Inc. 5000 list each year and some established companies make the list multiple times over many years; maintaining such rapid growth and momentum over multiple consecutiveyears is exceedingly difficult.  This is borne out by the fact that fewer than 18% of honorees historically ever achieve five consecutive years, and details on longer streaks are not readily available.

"We are delighted to be recognized for six consecutive years as one of America's fastest growing private companies," stated EDTS CEO Charles Johnson. "We dedicate this recognition to the commitment and hard work of our team, and to the successful partnerships that we have forged through the years with our clients."

EDTS, a full-service technology consulting firm specializing in network security, managed IT services and advanced infrastructure for Southeastern business, was ranked #3890 on the 2015 Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies, and continues to rank highly among IT Service providers on the list – historically the fastest-growing segment.  The 2015 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2011 through 2014, with average annual growth for the 2015 list coming in at 77 percent, according to Inc. To qualify, companies must be U.S. based and privately held, independent -- not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies -- and have had at least $100,000 in revenue in 2011, and $2 million in 2014.  EDTS revenues according to Inc. totaled $10.5 million at year-end 2014.

The magazine surveys private America’s independent businesses to take a comprehensive snapshot of that critical part of the economy.  Participating companies vary widely in their focus, ranging from digital media companies, retailers and food and beverage companies to advanced manufacturers, technology and telecommunications businesses.

"With our emphasis on helping clients lower cost and harness the full power of their technology investment, we empower them to achieve even higher levels of success,” said Johnson.  “EDTS has a laser focus and unwavering commitment to providing customers with comprehensive IT solutions, strategies, and responsive service to help them grow their market share and profitability.  We are blessed that our clients’ resulting success has led to our own success as well.”

Over 27 million businesses are registered in the United States and thus eligible for consideration; past honorees have included Microsoft, Under Armour, Visa, Intuit, Timberland, Publix, Patagonia and Zappos.com.  And – of course – EDTS.

"The story of this year’s Inc. 5000 is the story of great leadership. In an incredibly competitive business landscape, it takes something extraordinary to take your company to the top,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “You have to remember that the average company on the Inc. 5000 grew nearly six-fold since 2012. Business owners don’t achieve that kind of success by accident."

EDTS has also been named to the MSPmentor 501 Global Edition list of the world’s top 501 managed service providers, and ranks #95 on that organization’s North American ranking.  CRN’s 2015 Managed Service Provider 500 list includes EDTS as a member of the MSP Pioneer 250, and on its Fast Growth 100 and Next-Gen 250 lists annually since 2012. WatchGuard Technologies has named EDTS as winner of the WatchGuard Security Partners Highest Growth Award, while regionally EDTS has been named as one of South Carolina’s top growth organizations annually since 2013 in both the Roaring Twenties rankings and South Carolina’s Fastest-Growing Companies competitions.
