North Augusta Downtown Greeneway Connector

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Monday, August 3rd, 2015

On July 20, 2015, the North Augusta City Council adopted a resolution authorizing North Augusta 2000 to conduct a study on the feasibility, routing, design, etc. of the proposed Downtown Greeneway Connector and Gateway Park.  Since then, North Augusta 2000 has entered into a contract with Alta Planning and Design for the study.  Alta had previously worked with the City on the existing Greeneway Plan and is experienced in greenway designs throughout the country.

As part of Alta’s work there will be opportunities for you as a stakeholder, a business owner, a property owner or a resident of the Downtown area, to participate and to share with them your thoughts on the location, design and amenities of the proposed Downtown Greeneway Connector and Gateway Park.  Below is a list of these times.  We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity for community input.

Remember, our goal is to extend the Greeneway into our Downtown - using it as an economic development tool for increased business and recreational activities.  North Augusta 2000 is excited about this proposed Greeneway extension and the future of Downtown.  We hope you are too.

Again, we urge you to take this opportunity for input.  You are valuable to the process.
