Walton Options for Independent Living, a non-profit Center for Independent Living, has announced their First Annual Pigskins & Bowties Fundraising Gala and Silent Auction for Thursday September 17, 6:30pm – 11:00pm at the Legends Club located at 2701 Washington Road #22, Augusta, GA 30909. The high-class tailgate cocktail party is designed to raise funds for their Advocacy and Outreach programs across Georgia and South Carolina as well as to promote awareness of the services WOIL offers.

The lead-up to the Georgia/Carolina game every fall annually ignites the passions of fans around the CSRA.  Building on the excitement of the upcoming game, Pigskins & Bowties is a Classic Southern Football Cocktail Party and Silent Auction, hosted by Barclay Bishop & Jay Jefferies of NBC 26 and will celebrate the Southern Tradition of Football in the CSRA.

The evening will include heavy hors d’oeuvres from Roux’s Gourmet Catering, top shelf open bar by White Horse, Celebrity DJ Lu Ong from New York City, a special ‘Half Time Show’, Silent Auction, and many other surprises including Walton Option’s 20th Anniversary Celebration – all to benefit the disabled community.

“Our gala is an evening designed to help us raise awareness and funds for our Advocacy and Outreach Programs in a fun, inclusive way,” said Tiffany Clifford, Executive Director, WOIL. “We hope Pigskins & Bowties will be the kick-off party event that football and sports aficionados will look forward to every year.”

A variety of local businesses from around the community have donated merchandise, gift certificates and services to the Silent Auction. Sponsors for the evening include NBC 26 and The Augusta Chronicle. All the proceeds of the night will go to Walton Options’ Advocacy and Outreach Programs including Employment Services, Youth & Community Leadership, the Love Shouldn’t Hurt program, and more.
