Columbia County Chamber Hosts Annual State of the Community Address Today

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual State of the Community Address on Tuesday, September 22 at Liberty Park Gym at 1040 Newmantown Road in Grovetown.

More than 300 people are expected to attend the sold out event that brings community leaders together to give the community an update on the future growth and goals of Columbia County.

This year’s speakers are:  Board of Commissioners Chairman Ron Cross; Grovetown Mayor George James; Harlem Mayor Bobby Culpepper; School Board Chairman Regina Buccafussco; and Fort Gordon’s Garrison Commander, Col. Sam Anderson. In addition this year, Don Grantham, Immediate Past Chair of the Georgia State Transportation Board, will discuss traffic and road construction issues.

Audience members will have a chance to submit questions in writing to the panel.

The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a Business Expo featuring booths from 24 local businesses and organizations, and a barbecue dinner from Shane’s Rib Shack.

The program will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
