Augusta Technical College Veterans Day Program

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Wednesday, November 11th, 2015

Augusta Technical College will present a Veterans Day program on Wednesday, November 11th at the Augusta Campus off Dean’s Bridge Road. The program will be held in the ITC Auditorium (Jack Patrick Building 1000). It is a program to honor the courageous men and women who serve and have served in our nation’s armed forces.

Attendees will gather at 10:30 and the program is scheduled to start shortly afterward. It is open to faculty, staff, students, and the public.

The featured speaker this year is Colonel Stephen Elle, who is currently the current Director of Training for the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He hails from Yankton, South Dakota and originally enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1981. He deployed twice as part of the peace and stability operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in support of the Hurricane Andrew relief efforts.

Earlier this year, Augusta Technical College opened up a Military Service Center on the Augusta Campus. It serves as a place of resources for the military population at the college in the Student Services Building. The MSC was made possible by the generosity of the Augusta Warrior Project, an organization that continues to be a driving force for the military in our community. This year, the newly elected Student Veterans Organization Officers of Augusta Technical College will be in attendance. These officers are excited to inaugurate the first SVO chapter at Augusta Tech. This student chapter will be the “boots on the ground” that will provide student support on campus as well as in their communities.

Join them on Veterans Day 2015, at 10:30am on the Augusta Technical College campus off Deans Bridge Road in the ITC Building and help honor our veterans on their special day.
