Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Thursday, January 14th, 2016

The Applied Research Center announced today the launch of its newly redesigned website: www.discoverarc.com.

The website is one of several ways ARC informs academia, research institutions around the country, and industry with need of advanced research lab space about the research and developments at the facility. Scientists, researchers, and the public in general can also learn about ARC.

ARC is home to advanced lab equipment, such as the Hitachi SU8230 Scanning Electron Microscope with a 150mm Oxford Aztec EDS and the Zeiss Axio Imager Light Microscope, that can be reserved for research purposes. The redesigned website allows users to schedule times on available equipment more efficiently and conveniently.
The new equipment supports ARC’s work in Porous Wall Hollow Glass Microspheres, work with leading universities such as Virginia Tech, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and Augusta University. The equipment also supports research at the Savannah River National Laboratory.

“With our four major areas of research, the redesigned website allows us to clearly define the scope of research conducted at the ARC facility. Through compelling content and visuals, users are able to intuitively navigate the website and learn about the past, present, and future of ARC,” said Fred Humes, President and CEO of the Applied Research Center.

Incorporating responsive design, the new website ensures users can access all the information on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices at any time.
