Columbia County Chamber Announces New V.P.

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Cassidy Harris, former Director of Programs, has been promoted to  Vice President of Business Development within the Chamber.  Cassidy, who has been with the Chamber for almost two years, started out as the Members Relations Manager before becoming Director of Programs.  Prior to her employment with the Chamber, Cassidy was the Community Relations Manager for Heartland Hospice for four years.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Georgia Southern University as well as a MBA from Georgia College & State University. 

Cassidy is currently in her second year of Institute for Organization Management, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.  Institute is the premier nonprofit professional development program for association, chamber, and nonprofit professionals fostering individual growth through interactive learning and networking opportunities.

In addition to the change in position for Cassidy, two new faces have recently joined the Chamber’s team.  Becky Dearden, Member Relations Manager, came to the Chamber from the Aiken Standard.  Becky started with the Chamber in December, and has a degree in Advertising from the University of South Carolina. 

Kathryn Freemon, Communications Manager, joined the Chamber in January.  Kathryn previously worked for The Augusta Chronicle as the Community Relations Manager.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Augusta State University.
