National Job Shadowing Day Celebrated in Augusta

Staff Report From Augusta CEO

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016

February 2nd is National Job Shadowing day and Richmond County School System students will be participating. Students from all over the country will get to play a role in the job shadowing event including 10 schools and approximately 96 students here in Richmond County.

Job shadowing day is when students will get to see up close and personal, how it is in the real world by observing all types of professions.

Offices and companies all over Augusta will have students learning about what it takes to be a welder, barber/stylist, architect, graphic designer, engineer, solicitor general, and so many more.

The Richmond County School Systems mission is building a world-class school system through education, collaboration, and innovation. With a vison to create a world-class, globally competitive school system where all students will graduate and are college/career ready.

The school system believes participating in events like these opens the minds and eyes of students to a world they may have never known.

The event will last from 9:30am to 1:30pm and the companies are asked to provide lunch. The Richmond County School System Career, Technical, & Agricultural Education Department is heading this local event.
