The 2016 Women's Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship and Mid-Amateur Golf Championship will be held at West Lake Country Club June 20 - 24, 2016. This is the first time the tournament will be held in Augusta.

The Amateur and the Mid-Amateur are separate Championships, with the Amateur open to all ages, while the Mid-Amateur is open to ladies age 25 and above. This will be the 101st Amateur and the 2nd Mid-Amateur Championship.

“The Women's Southern Golf Association is excited about bringing our 101st annual Southern Amateur Championship to Augusta this summer,” said WSGA President, Audrey Songy of Alabama.  “We all recognize that the City of Augusta has a rich golfing tradition and we are thrilled to be a part of that in June."

WSGA has been hosting golf championships since 1911. Last year's tournament was held at Sara Bay Country Club in Sarasota, Fl. The 2015 Amateur Champion was Sierra Brooks from Sorrento, Fl and the 2015 Inaugural Mid-Amateur Champion was Gigi Higgins from Cape Coral, Florida.
