Action Medical Center will be hosting a community health fair and blood drive to provide free health screenings for the community while encouraging regular blood donations to Shepeard Community Blood Center.

The supply of blood must continually be renewed and one of the best ways to do this is through community events that raise awareness of the need. On March 5, 2016, the Shepeard Community Blood Center mobile collection unit will be accepting donations from 12 to 4PM at Action Medical Center’s location, 211 Bobby Jones Expressway. Area businesses will be on hand with displays and to provide health screenings and information free of charge. All donors will receive a chair massage compliments of Action Medical.  Register to donate at www.shepeardblood.org or call 706-830-5442. Health screenings being offered will include:

· Blood Glucose Screening
· Blood Pressure Check
· Digital Postural Analysis
· Body Composition Analysis
· Medication Interaction Check (Bring all the medicine you take-don’t forget over the counter medicines and supplements.)

This event is open to the public. Even if you are unable to donate at this time you are welcome to come show your support for those who do and participate in the other health screenings. There will be representatives on hand from area businesses, door prizes and raffles. In the event of bad weather all activities will be held indoors.
