Leadership Augusta, an affiliate of the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, is accepting applications for the 2017 Adult class, which runs from August 2016 through May 2017. The Adult Class exposes participants to various issues within the city with a goal to groom the community's next great leaders. Participates take part in a ten-month program oriented to developing leadership skills, fostering understanding of the major issues facing the region, improving the communications network among leaders of disparate backgrounds and interests, and motivating them to contribute through voluntary participation in civic activities.

Applications are available at LeadershipAugusta.com and AugustaMetroChamber.com and are due by Friday, April 22, 2016 by 5:00 p.m. Mail or hand deliver the completed application package to: Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, #1 Tenth Street, Suite 120, Augusta, Georgia 30901. After reviewing the applications, a select number of applicants will be asked to interview and join the class.

Leadership Augusta’s mission is to identify, develop, grow and connect knowledgeable leaders from throughout the region through dynamic education, membership, and alumni programs that enable them to grow as leaders and help make the community a better place to live and work.

Specific goals of the program include:  

• identifying and educating potential, emerging, and existing community leaders

• promoting networking among the membership

• identifying community needs and promote and facilitate community projects

• providing a resource pool for the benefit of the community
