The Augusta Sports Council is pleased to announce that the volunteer registration is now open for the annual IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta triathlon scheduled for Sunday, September 25, 2016.

Over 1,700 volunteers are needed for the upcoming IRONMAN 70.3 event this fall, with opportunities to help mid-week prior to the race and will conclude Monday post-race. Duties range from athlete registration and venue set-up to finish line support and aid stations.
 
Each year, The IRONMAN Foundation provides a grant program to support organizations that have a volunteerism component within IRONMAN’s race communities. In an effort to enhance the well-being of those in the communities where IRONMAN triathlons are held, The IRONMAN Foundation is devoted to improving lives and communities in the United States through charitable support to other nonprofit organizations.
                                                              
The ASC is encouraging civic, church, school and sports groups to volunteer. Volunteers can sign up for all days and opportunities at www.ironman.com/augusta70.3.
